Grandeur Of The Seas

Dreaming of a cruise on the seas is becoming a reality. To pick one cruise line can be pretty intense. There are quite a few to choose from the small cruise ship to the largest one ever built, grandeur of the seas at its best is the Royal Caribbean line the Oasis of the Seas. It was launched December fifth, two thousand and nine. The home port is Port Everglades in Florida.

The Oasis of the Seas is the ultimate grandeur of the seas, bar none. The length of it is one thousand and one hundred and eighty one feet. She carries up to six thousand and two hundred and ninety six passengers; the crew alone adds up to two thousand, one hundred and sixty five.  The top speed is twenty two point six knots, and there are sixteen decks. Remarkable to say the least, the passengers that board this ship just say wow. Not many other words can describe this grandeur of the seas.

A zip line is strung across nine stories above the ships aft, the first one at sea. There is also a Central Park with live tropical garden featuring a multitude of vines, flowers and trees. You would think you are in Central Park or the tropics. The cuisine is at the top of the line, fixed by one of the top chefs in America.

Having ten restaurants to choose from there is certainly one for your tastes. Some are very elegant, black tie and tails and formals for the ladies, down to Sorrento’s Pizzeria. There are still many quirks to work out on this special ship, but this grandeur of the seas is at it’s the best. The cabins range from being small and would be inside to the outside ones, large and roomy almost stateroom like, some look over the Central Park area.

Oasis of the Seas makes her voyages to St. Thomas, St. Maarten and Nassau. She will be adding a few more ports in the upcoming season. Be prepared to pay top dollar to cruise on this ship, plus money for a lot of other items that are extra. This lady is the grandeur of the seas for sure.

On a smaller scale there is the Holland America ship headed for Alaska. This ship only carries one thousand, one hundred and ninety passengers. Still known as one of the Grandeur of the seas, it has all the items on board so you can enjoy the seas going to Alaska. Some of the cabins have queen size beds, a large writing desk with drawers and nice little reading lamps over the beds and more.

She has two dining rooms, fairly large, one is a buffet style and the other one is for fine, sit down dinners. The Zuiderdam, of Holland America cruise line might be a little bit better than the Cruise West’s Spirit. It depends on what you are looking for.

There are many grandeur of the seas cruise liners, and once you have picked the one you want and where to go, the rest is easy. From Alaska to the Caribbean you are bound to enjoy the grandeur of the seas and you will always have the memories. Take a lot of pictures and enjoy your cruise.
